My name is Sinivas Khedam. I am the 8th grade home teacher and vice princpal at St. Edward school in Seattle. I have over 26 years of teaching experience. In these 26 years I taught in India, New Zealand and over 12 years in USA. Most of my teaching experience has been at K-8 level.
Most of my education was in India, but I also attended university in New Zealand. I hold a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Seattle University, a Master's Degree in English Literature, Education and Educational Administration( NZ).
Teaching is my passion. In teaching every moment is rewarding, especially when I see students progressing from one level to the other like small buds transforming into beautiful flowers. A best day for me is when one or more of my students have a "WOW" and "YES" moment in my class. Personally, I get more satisfaction when I teach a student who has a challenge with learning than a student who is gifted. It takes more effort to teach a challenging student.
I like to help those who are in need, especially orphan and poor children. I am one of the coordinators for a non profit organization called VT Seva, that helps the poor, orphan and sick children in India. In addition to this, I conduct free seminars for teachers, parents and students in India to educate them about the education system in the developed countries. Through these activities I want to make a difference in the lives of children and adults who need help.
